Welcome!

Welcome to Enlightened Earth Hypnosis! My name is Sarah Johnson, and I will be your tour guide on your journey in mental wellness and empowerment. A little about me - I am easily distracted by beautiful clouds and trees, I collect rocks because it's humbling to hold something that's most likely older than all of us, and water is my happy place. Although I am very calm and therapeutic in my office, I am by no means perfect and certainly never will be. It's taken me 42 years to get to the point of self-acceptance and understanding, and I will always be a work in progress.

Ever since I was middle school age, people have come to me for a listening ear. I could never understand why at first, but complete strangers would start telling me their life stories...stop all of a sudden with eyes wide...and then start apologizing for sharing. Some people have innate skills at singing, acting, or sports. Helping others seemed to be my skill, so I began studying Psychology in High School and never stopped. Over my lifetime thus far, I've worked with hundreds of people in different capacities. My work on a Child and Adolescent Unit Psychiatric Unit was especially a crash course in various "disorders" and the effects of mental, emotional, physical and sexual abuse. That was a very dark time as I absorbed all of their pain myself, experienced vicarious traumatization, and sustained multiple permanent physical injuries from patients. The injuries ultimately led to my need to move on from that unit.

It wasn't until the last few years that I discovered the term "Empath", and everything started making sense. I've had to learn how to help others without absorbing their experiences, which is still difficult to do at times. Being an empathic person and naturally passionate about helping people find their own answers has led me to where I am today.

My next blog post will discuss the differences between traditional therapies vs. hypnosis from my personal experiences. So, welcome on your new journey of self-discovery and come join me again!

Find your personal happy place. This is one of mine.
